I actually grabbed this hat while checking out after buying some Maple Nutrition gear (which, by the way, has also been excellent. I've used it twice this week already).
Now, onto the hat...
I've owned it for about a week and have used it twice. Once for a night session at the track, and once on a trail run that started at 4:30am and finished just after sunrise in Melbourne around 7:30am. During the run I was wearing a headlamp.
"So... have you actually used the brim?" I hear you ask.
Well... no.
You see, I wear my cap backwards.
Around the age of 40 (about six months ago for context), I realised I could instantly look five years younger and blend in with the other cool dads simply by spinning my hat around. It also cleverly disguises my slowly retreating hairline, which has apparently decided it no longer wants to be part of the team.
As a result, this hat has so far spent its entire life protecting the back of my neck from absolutely no sunlight whatsoever.
What I can confirm is that it wicks sweat brilliantly, stays comfortable, fits perfectly under a headlamp, and most importantly, continues supporting my completely delusional belief that wearing a backwards cap makes me look cool.
So while I can't comment on its ability to block UV rays (I've successfully avoided the sun every time I've worn it), I can confidently give it five stars.
Highly recommended... especially if you're also fighting the inevitable march of middle age, one backwards cap at a time... Image attached looking youthful as f*ck!
